Gery Tinkelenberg is a songwriter/guitarist/singer that has performed extensively in Northern California and New Mexico both as a solo performer and with his former band, The Goodbye Flowers. Born in the Netherlands and raised in Oakland, Ca., he developed a strong affinity for rhythmic hard rock. His first guitar idol was Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin because of his quick fingered, raw, passionate style. He later developed a strong appreciation for Carlos Santana's melodic and emotional playing, fueled by the fiery latin rhythms of his band. Growing up in Oakland, he couldn't help but be influenced by the funky and soulful sounds of bands like Tower of Power. Add to all that a growing love of songwriting, and you get Gery today, a true product of all the various influences of the San Francisco bay area. He's worth checking out! He's definitely not your typical singer songwriter, that's for sure!
